Just a few...

I finally finished late last night proofing the photos from last Saturday's session, and here are just a few that I wanted to share.  But first I have to tell you something really special about this family.  They both just recently resigned their professional, well-paying, corporate jobs and will be leaving the country in less than 8 weeks to become missionaries, and I just think that is SO INCREDIBLE!  I'm really in awe of people like this, they are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside...

Posing is Overrated

Okay, I'll get to the "real" photos soon, but I'm still working my way through the 400+ I took yesterday of this beautiful family of five.  Sometimes though my favorites are the photos I take while everyone is trying to jockey into position for a group shot.  These two were just cracking me up... constant action!!

If you think these two look familiar, it's because they grace the slideshow at the beginning of my website in a photo taken a little over a year ago.

Toddlers can be scary...

Look carefully - see the little rocks?   They were aimed straight for me and my camera.

With an almost 2 year old, you've got to be ready to duck and cover at any time.  :-)

More coming from this photo shoot later, but this one made me laugh and was too funny not to share.

Beyond Horses...

These were taken at the same place the horse photos were below. I had a photo shoot a couple of months ago here for the first time, but this time I wanted to bring my own girls... and a very pretty friend.

Giddy!

That's the word I would use to describe how this family feels about their daughter and grand-daughter!  Of course they love her, but they're just plain giddy about it and I love that!!

A couple of months ago I discovered the Celebrating Adoption website, where photographers provide some reduced fees to families who have adopted in the past year.  Anyone out there who has been through an adoption knows that they are NOT an inexpensive endeavor.  I love the thought of providing photos from that special first year together for families who might not have otherwise been able to get those at this time.

This family was the first to contact me after my information was put up on the Celebrating Adoption website.  And why did we wait till 3 days before Christmas to do it?  Because today marks the one year anniversary of their beautiful daughter coming HOME!  What a way to celebrate Christmas!

Giddy - see what I mean...

This family...

They had me laughing from the moment they climbed out of the car.  The two girls are both beautiful!  I swear 11 and 13 year olds didn't look like this when I was in school!

And then the little man - he's just FULL of spunk and kept me on the run, but his laugh is completely infectious.

But he comes by it honestly - he gets it from his DAD and mom is left... helpless!

So what's with the hair on teenage boys these days?

LOVE this kid!  He's the second oldest in the cousin clan and at almost 18, I do believe he can make the girls swoon - if not with his obvious good looks, then certainly with his ever present sense of humor - and I believe that comes through on these photos just as much as those blue eyes do.

I finished up C's proofing last night and had to send a few more.  I think I smiled as I was going through all of them - it's pretty easy to tell how much fun we had...

Throw your arms in the air!

This little guy is getting the most out of life and is not shy to show how he feels about it.  He's one of the happiest little men I know and I was pretty excited to be able to capture some of that joy.  C, I hope you always feel this way...

I'm just now proofing photos after the long weekend, so they'll be plenty more on C later.

Exactly what I needed!

After chasing around the little man below for two hours, I was nervous about my session that I had scheduled that afternoon.  Did I really have it in me?!  Well, there was (I think audible) sigh of relief when these two sisters showed up and were SO sweet!  And if you can tell from the photos they really DO like each other - they cuddled up constantly and when we walked from one area to the next they even held pinky fingers... so cute and it was the absolutely perfect way to end my day!

We were pretty much done, but as we were walking out we saw this gorgeous yellow tree, the colors were so vibrant and we could not pass it up...

Little Boys

This is my second year of shooting I and his family.  He was much more cooperative when he was just learning to walk. Now he's two - he's very very two - and is NOT interested in me or my camera as seen here

But here's a trick - when you have a little man who likes to show you more of his back then his front, put him in a tree and then he can't turn away...

And keep your camera ready, because he might just turn around and give you a heart stopping smile when you least expect it...

Thanks Mom and Dad - I had a great time again this year!!

I've got a busy weekend...

that I could not be more excited about!  The fall color here is gorgeous and it's all happened in like the past 4 days!.  It makes such a great backdrop for photos.  Mother Nature did good this year!

And to keep my "no post without a pic" policy - here's a couple more of A.

Happy Baby!

Little A was no problem at all, she came with a big smile on her face and kept it almost the whole time.... specially if she had a leaf to hold, and lucky for us there were plenty of those around!  Thanks T and S for carting her everywhere and putting your little girl on moss covered  paths and piles of leaves.  Here's just a sneak peak...
