Thank goodness that's over! These tournaments give me more gray hairs than the rest of the season combined. I won't go into the gory details - the details that include the girls not having a coach (their coach was at the boys high school state championships 45 minutes north of us, which they won), I won't go into the fact that they had a substitute coach during their most crucial game of the weekend who played them all out of position and had them totally confused. I won't mention the tears that each girl shed after they lost that game by 1 point. I won't go into the details about the two teams that DID make it to the finals that our girls have beaten numerous times all year long.
But what I will mention is the way our girls played - with all their heart and soul and speed and agility and incredible talent that this team possesses. I really am in awe when I watch them play, when they are on, they are ON and they were cranked up this weekend. You just wouldn't think that 10 and 11 year old girls can play like that, but they do, and it's so much fun to watch. I wouldn't trade anything in the world to keep from being a spectator at one of their games. They blow me away...
possibly one of my favorite photos of all time... (click it)

So sorry the girls lost, but it sounds like they played the best they could under the circumstances, so that's the important thing.
Great photos, as always. I love the one of the girl kicking the ball too...great expression on her face!
